The Brave Little Sparrow
In a bustling town filled with colorful markets and laughter, there lived a tiny sparrow named Chiku. Unlike other birds, Chiku was not afraid of anything. With his bright eyes and cheerful chirps, he brought joy to everyone he met. The townsfolk often smiled as they watched him flutter around, singing sweet melodies that brightened their day.
One day, as Chiku flitted through the marketplace, he overheard a group of children talking about a fierce cat that had been terrorizing the area. The cat was large and cunning, often lurking around, waiting to catch unsuspecting birds. The children were frightened, and their chatter was filled with worry. Chiku felt a sense of responsibility; he couldn’t let fear hold him back.
Determined to help, Chiku gathered all the birds in the town. “Listen, my friends,” he chirped with confidence. “We can’t let this cat rule over us. We must work together to protect our home!” The other birds looked at each other, unsure of what to do. “What can we do against such a big cat?” asked a timid finch.
Chiku thought for a moment and replied, “We may be small, but together we are strong. Let’s devise a plan!” Encouraged by his bravery, the birds agreed. They decided to keep watch for the cat and alert one another if he appeared.
The next day, as the sun rose, Chiku took his position on a high branch, surveying the streets below. His heart raced as he spotted the big cat lounging lazily near a pile of old boxes. The cat stretched, looking for birds to catch. Without hesitation, Chiku flew down to warn his friends. “The cat is here! Let’s alert everyone!”
As the other birds took flight, Chiku led them in a daring dance above the cat’s head, chirping loudly. “Hey, over here!” he called, swooping and diving to confuse the cat. The cat, startled by the sudden commotion, looked up, its eyes wide with surprise.
With each flutter, Chiku grew bolder. “This is our home, and we won’t let you take it from us!” he declared. The other birds joined in, circling around the cat, creating a chaotic whirl of feathers and chirps. The cat, overwhelmed by the united front, decided it was best to retreat. With a frustrated growl, it slinked away, disappearing into the alley.
The birds cheered, their spirits soaring. “Chiku, you are so brave!” they exclaimed, fluttering around him. Chiku beamed with pride, knowing that together they had faced their fears and protected their home. The children in the town watched in awe, realizing that even the smallest creatures could show great courage.
From that day on, the birds of the town felt empowered. They continued to work together, keeping watch for any danger. Chiku became a symbol of bravery and unity. The children often recounted the tale of the brave little sparrow who stood up against the fearsome cat, inspiring others to be courageous in the face of challenges.
One evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, Chiku perched on a branch, reflecting on the day. He realized that true bravery comes from standing up for what is right, no matter how small one may be. With a heart full of joy, he sang a melody that filled the air with hope and courage.
“यत्र योगेश्वरः कृष्णो यत्र पार्थो धनुर्धरः।
तत्र श्रीर्विजयो भूतिर्ध्रुवा नीतिर्मतिर्मम।”
(“Wherever there is Krishna, the master of yoga, and Arjuna, the mighty archer, there also is victory, prosperity, and sound morality.”)
The tale of Chiku, the brave little sparrow, echoed through the town, teaching everyone that courage is not defined by size but by the strength of one’s heart.
